The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs demands transparency in AI and algorithms to protect public rights

The Ministry of Communication and Digital  has asked Electronic System Providers  that manage digital platforms to increase transparency in the use of artificial intelligence  and algorithm management to protect the public's right to receive information.

With clear transparency from PSE as the digital platform manager, the public can know how information is created, displayed, and distributed in the digital space.

"AI can help people find and understand information, but its answers aren't always correct. Therefore, any important information must still be verified through credible sources, especially if it concerns government policies or accusations against certain parties," said Mediodecci Lustarini, Secretary of the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Information.

In managing AI services on digital platforms, transparency is increasingly important as AI technology develops that can generate content that resembles human opinion, including through automated accounts or bots.

Without adequate information, the public risks having difficulty distinguishing authentic conversations from automatically generated or disseminated content.
