The Ministry of Creative Economy believes local cultural values have the potential to be used as game themes

The Director of Games at the Ministry of Creative Economy , Luat Sihombing, revealed that Indonesian culture could be one of the fuels or foundations that developers are eyeing to develop games with the potential to go global.

At the "Tencent White Paper Launch" event, which was part of the World Conference on Creative Economy , Luat said that the local culture in question also includes popular things and memes that are currently developing in society. Initially only popular in Indonesia, but eventually became widely known by the global community.

"We see game developers in Indonesia continuing to strive to stay relevant and develop their ecosystems in Indonesia. They're trying to reach the global market using different approaches. From local content to global content, while still preserving local culture, they can incorporate it into their games," Luat said.
