Portugal national team midfielder Vitinha hopes Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Jorge Jesus can resolve their differences so the superstar can return to the national team.
The conflict emerged during the September international break after Ronaldo left Portugal's training camp due to dissatisfaction with limited playing time.

"The international break was full of turmoil and emotions. I just hope everything can be resolved in the best way. I hope he comes back and everything goes well. Honestly, that's what we all want," Vitinha said
Vitinha made this statement after Paris Saint-Germain defeated Manchester City 4-2 in the second week of the 2026/27 Champions League at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
Ronaldo's dispute with Jorge Jesus occurred during the recent international break. The 41-year-old striker was reportedly disappointed with the playing opportunities given to him by his coach and decided to leave the Portugal national team camp.
Ronaldo later apologized to his teammates via social media. However, in the same statement, the Al Nassr striker also accused Jorge Jesus of reneging on his promise.
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) then imposed a provisional suspension on Ronaldo. To date, no final decision has been made regarding the punishment the Portugal captain will receive.
The FPF also stated that details of the disciplinary process will remain confidential until the investigation is complete. Previously, Ronaldo stated that he was ready to accept any punishment imposed by the federation, while reiterating his desire to continue playing for the national team.
Ronaldo is Portugal's all-time leading scorer with 146 goals in 234 appearances. His presence remains a concern ahead of the upcoming international break.
Meanwhile, Vitinha featured in all four of Portugal's victories in the UEFA Nations League during the last international break. Portugal still has two more matches in November, against Denmark and Wales.
