According to her, in case of digestive problems, milk protein allergy, or sweetener intolerance, it is preferable to avoid these snacks.
She says: "Attention should also be paid to sugar alcohols in protein bars, especially for those with gastrointestinal sensitivities. Added inulin or chicory extract ferments quickly in the intestines and causes pain and bloating in some people. Whey protein or soy protein isolate with gum may also cause heaviness and nausea. Therefore, people with gastrointestinal diseases, milk protein allergies, or sweetener intolerance should be very careful about these ingredients."
According to her, a protein bar should not replace a full meal. Nor do these bars replace regular food, neither in terms of their ingredients nor their ability to provide a feeling of fullness for an extended period.
She says: "People who don't exercise can eat these bars, although they are not usually necessary. Moreover, their high protein content may hide a long list of ingredients that are always difficult to digest. If someone needs a protein bar as a snack now and then, it is best to choose one with obvious ingredients - nuts, seeds, oats, or egg whites. But in many cases, it can easily be replaced by cottage cheese, a boiled egg with vegetables, or a handful of nuts."
