The football database website, which specializes in football statistics, revealed a new update to the world club rankings, which saw Al-Ahly of Egypt advance after its victory over its traditional rival Zamalek by two goals to nil, in the summit match that brought them together within the Egyptian Premier League competitions last Sunday.

According to the published ranking, Al-Ahly jumped from 88th to 81st globally, benefiting from its victory in the summit, while Zamalek dropped from 183rd to 200th place, in a change that reflects the impact of match results on the ranking of clubs according to the evaluation system adopted by the site.

According to the latest update of the world rankings, after the matches that took place up to October 11, 2026, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia came in the 36th place globally, making it one of the most prominent Arab clubs on the list, while Pyramids of Egypt came in the 69th place, Al-Nasr of Saudi Arabia advanced to the 77th place, and then Al-Ahly of Egypt in the 81st place.

At the level of the African continent, the latest continental ranking available on the website , updated after the matches of October 4, 2026, shows South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the list, followed by Egypt’s Pyramids, then Egypt’s Al-Ahly, while Tunisia’s Esperance came in fourth, Morocco’s FAR Rabat in sixth, and Zamalek in seventh.

The Football Database ranking is an independent global ranking of clubs, based on a special evaluation system and team results, and does not represent an official ranking issued by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

The website's methodology differs from the rankings issued by continental federations for regulatory purposes, such as the UEFA ranking used in some tournament procedures and draws.

The club rankings remain subject to change as new matches are played and results are updated, giving teams the opportunity to improve their positions based on their performance in domestic and continental competitions.
