Alwi Farhan maintains his hopes of appearing at the 2026 World Tour Finals

Indonesian men's singles player Alwi Farhan is determined to maintain his fighting spirit and consistent play at the end of the season to realize his ambition of appearing at the 2026 BWF World Tour Finals.

Alwi expressed his determination after securing a ticket to the last 16 of the 2026 Korea Open by defeating Japanese representative Kenta Nishimoto in two straight games 21-14, 21-11 at Jinnam Stadium, Yeosu.

The world's 10th-ranked badminton player acknowledged that the tight schedule of tournaments throughout the season presents a challenge, particularly in maintaining his fitness and consistent performance as the year draws to a close.

However, Alwi does not want the fatigue caused by the long competition schedule to dampen his competitive spirit when the competition for tickets to the season-ending tournament becomes increasingly fierce.

"We need to stay focused on the calendar that's approaching the end of the year, and increase our fighting spirit, not let up because of the challenging schedule this year," Alwi said.

Based on the provisional BWF World Tour Finals qualifying standings, Alwi is ranked fourth in the men's singles category and is in contention for the eight available spots at the season-ending tournament.
