The General Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee Center, Marciano Norman, inaugurated and confirmed the Executive Board of the Indonesian Handball Association for the 2026–2030 term, emphasizing the need to strengthen unity through sports while simultaneously improving Indonesia's handball achievements at the international level.

During the inauguration, Marciano entrusted Zulfydar Zaidar Mochtar with the reinstatement of the Indonesian Handball Association. He assessed that the development of Indonesian handball has shown positive progress, particularly through the achievements of athletes in several international championships.

He said the athletes' success in winning medals at the SEA Games and the Asian Championships for senior, junior, and youth groups was the result of hard work supported by all levels of the organization, including provincial and university administrators.
According to Marciano, this achievement should motivate the new PB ABTI management to maintain the continuity of coaching and improve the quality of athletes so they can compete in various international events.
Marciano hopes Indonesian handball will achieve further success, both in multi-event and single-event international championships. He stated that the Central KONI is ready to provide optimal support to the new management in implementing the organization's programs.
"Congratulations to Mr. Zulfydar and his management team on their successful career. All of us, including the Central KONI, will certainly provide our full support," said Marciano.
Beyond achievements, Marciano conveyed the message that handball can be a means of strengthening national unity. He believes that sport plays a strategic role in uniting Indonesians from diverse backgrounds.
He reminded that Indonesia is a large country that needs a spirit of togetherness to face various attempts to divide society.
Therefore, he hopes that handball will not only develop as a competitive sport, but also become a sport that is increasingly known and loved by the public.
He encouraged PB ABTI to strengthen coaching from school age to university by holding tiered competitions, starting from the youth to senior age groups.
