The official spokesman for the joint force, Major Mutawakkil Ali Wakil Abuja, said in a statement that "the joint force, the armed forces and the supporting forces carried out extensive military operations in the North Kordofan axis, which included large-scale field combing operations, resulting in the liberation of 4 areas, namely Umm Samima, Kazqil, Hamadi and Abu Qud."
He added that "the operations resulted in heavy losses for the Rapid Support Forces in terms of lives and equipment," stressing that "a number of militia members were killed and the rest fled from the confrontation sites."
He affirmed in his statement that "these operations come within the framework of national and military duty, and that the joint force is proceeding in coordination with the armed forces and supporting forces in efforts to restore the lands and cleanse the areas of the militia's presence, until security and stability are achieved."
