She also commented in the same way on the video that Ronaldo posted on his Instagram account, indicating her distress at the decision that ends one of the most prominent careers in the history of international football.
This interaction comes as an extension of Georgina’s support for Ronaldo during his recent crisis with the Portuguese national team, as she had previously reposted his message in which he announced his departure from the national team camp, and attached a red heart to it, expressing her support for him in the dispute that arose between him and the technical director, Jorge Jesus.
The retirement announcement came weeks after a severe crisis Ronaldo experienced with Portugal coach Jorge Jesus, after the dispute between them escalated following the match against Norway in the European Nations League, which ended with Portugal winning 2-1, during which the national team captain remained on the bench without participating.
The crisis worsened after Ronaldo felt that the coach had not honored the agreement they had made regarding his role in the matches, leading him to decide to leave the national team camp in Denmark before facing Norway, announcing that he would later reveal the true reasons that prompted him to make this decision.
Cristiano Ronaldo has played 234 international matches for Portugal, scoring 146 goals, making him the most capped and highest-scoring player for national teams in the history of men's football.
