A Chinese Foreign Ministry statement on Saturday quoted Wang as telling Blinken on Friday in New York that the United States is trying to undermine China's sovereignty and territorial integrity with regard to Taiwan.

On Friday, the two foreign ministers agreed to keep the lines of communication open between the two countries.
In a statement, the State Department said Blinken told Wang that the United States was "committed to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and highlighted the consequences if Beijing supported Russia's war on Ukraine."
Blinken met Wang Yi, on Friday, in New York against the backdrop of tensions over Taiwan, and on the sidelines of the annual United Nations General Assembly.
This is the first meeting between the two ministers since the July talks on the Indonesian island of Bali, during which they expressed their desire to hold a dialogue.
