Blinken met Wang Yi, on Friday, in New York against the backdrop of tensions over Taiwan, and on the sidelines of the annual United Nations General Assembly.  This is the first meeting between the two ministers since the July talks on the Indonesian island of Bali, during which they expressed their desire to hold a dialogue.
