Menko Airlangga: Indonesia is increasingly being counted on by the world

Menko Airlangga: Indonesia is increasingly being counted on by the world Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said Indonesia is increasingly being reckoned with by the world because of various positive achievements of the national economy, including cultural wealth. "We are currently believed to be leading the G20 and leading ASEAN next year, so Indonesia has been counted and is expected to be an example for other developing countries," said Minister of Aviation Airlangga Hartarto in an official statement in Jakarta, Saturday. Menko Airlangga asked the central government, regions, and stakeholders , both universities and UMKM, to help the success of Indonesia's leadership on the world stage. "Indonesia's important role is also increasingly strengthened with the trust given by the UN in mitigating and formulating a solution to the world financial crisis in the Global Crisis Response Group (GCRG) together with Bangladesh, Barbados, Denmark, Germany, and Senegal," he said. These various global achievements, said Minister Airlangga, show that Indonesia is becoming one of the countries that is increasingly being counted on, so that there is a need to strengthen coordination between the central government, regional government (local governments), universities, UMKM actors, and other stakeholders . Furthermore, Minister Airlangga also conveyed that Indonesia is now also more resilient and able to achieve an impressive economic growth of 5.44 percent in the second quarter of 2022, as well as continuing the growth trend above 5 percent for the last 3 quarters. Along with efforts to improve the economy, he continued, the government is also trying to suppress the level of inflation, especially in relation to food, which is kept at a maximum of 5 percent. "In the future, if we continue to work together, we can still keep inflation under control and Indonesia will be able to handle the economic crisis and pandemic well, so cooperation between the central government, local governments, and Bank Indonesia is a good effort to keep inflation," he said. In addition, Minister of Airlangga mentioned that Indonesia's local wisdom also encourages the existence and improvement of the economy of the people. For that reason, he strives to continue to encourage various cultural activities and customs that are able to increase the economic activity of the community. The cultural sector is one of the instruments developed by the government to encourage tourism.
