A new violation: A violent Israeli raid targets Beirut's southern suburbs.

The official Lebanese National News Agency reported that "Israeli warplanes launched a violent raid on the threatened site in the southern suburbs of Beirut."

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli occupation army warned residents of the Hadath area in Beirut's southern suburbs to evacuate their area in preparation for the bombing of a building.

Videos circulating on social media showed a destroyed building on fire, with columns of smoke and dust rising above the area.

This is the third Israeli bombing targeting the southern suburb since March 28.

Despite the ceasefire taking effect on November 27, 2024, Israel continues to target southern Lebanon under the pretext of attacking Hezbollah targets. However, this is also not the first time it has targeted Beirut's southern suburbs.

On October 8, 2023, Israel launched an aggression against Lebanon, which escalated into a full-scale war on September 23, 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 deaths and approximately 17,000 injuries, in addition to the displacement of approximately 1.4 million people.

Israel evaded completing its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by February 18, contrary to the agreement. Instead, it carried out a partial withdrawal and continues to occupy five major Lebanese hills, within the areas it occupied during the last war.

It also recently began establishing a border strip extending a kilometer or two into Lebanese territory. Israel has occupied territories in Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria for decades, and refuses to withdraw from them and establish an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the pre-1967 borders.
