Gibran discusses Indonesia's readiness to host the 2025 World Abilitysport Games


Jakarta - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming received an audience with the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee on Thursday to discuss Indonesia's readiness to host the 2025 World Abilitysports Games.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat, after a meeting at the Vice President's Office, Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara, Gambir, Central Jakarta, said the event is scheduled to take place from 11 to 21 September.

"The meeting discussed a number of strategic issues on the development of sports for people with disabilities in the country. One of them is related to Indonesia's readiness to host the 2025 World Abilitysports Games," said Taufik through the Vice President's Secretariat in Jakarta.

In addition, said Taufik, NPC Indonesia also conveyed the importance of continuing the plan to build phase 2 of the Paralympic Training Center (PTC) in Karanganyar, Bali, as a national training center for disabled athletes.

"Secondly, they also asked for direction regarding the venue in Karanganyar, because there are some that have not been realized and completed," he said.

Another agenda, continued the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, includes plans to hold the National Paralympic Week (Peparnas).
