Ministry of Transportation sends 5,896 travelers back home for free by bus


Jakarta - The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation sent off 5,896 travelers for free using land transportation via buses for the 2025/1446 Hijri Eid al-Fitr transportation.

The departure of free return participants of road transportation for the 2025/1446H Eid al-Fitr holiday will be carried out simultaneously on April 5, 2025, from nine terminals spread across East Java, Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Java and South Sumatra.

"With a total passenger quota of 5,896 passengers," said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi on the sidelines of the departure of the 'Free Homecoming' return transportation of the Ministry of Transportation's Road Transportation from the Giwangan Terminal, Yogyakarta, as stated in Jakarta, Saturday.

However, the Minister of Transportation did not specify in more detail the number of free return travelers from the five provinces of departure. Likewise, the buses that will be used, he only mentioned specifically in DIY, his party released 1,584 free return travelers.

Dudy said that 1,584 travelers from Yogyakarta and surrounding areas will return to the Jabodetabek area via the free return transportation.

"I pray that the return journey will be safe, smooth, and comfortable, until they arrive at their respective destinations and return to their activities with enthusiasm after visiting and gathering with their families in their hometowns," said the Minister of Transportation to the participants of the free return transportation.

According to him, the public's enthusiasm is very high in utilizing the free return facility. For that, the Minister of Transportation hopes that the free homecoming service can continue to be improved from year to year through the participation of ministries/institutions, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the private sector.
