Morocco: Heavy rains in Marrakech destroy the city's infrastructure

The Moroccan city of Marrakesh experienced heavy rainfall, turning city streets into rivers, flooding underground parking lots, and "waterfalls" flowing through shopping malls.

Local residents posted videos on social media showing the effects of the heavy rain, which also caused traffic congestion on the streets.

Local media reported that although the rains were seasonal and moderate, they exposed the fragility of the infrastructure and the absence of stormwater drainage channels, and demonstrated that the roads lacked even the most basic safety requirements.
