Jakarta - The General Chair of the Persija fan organization The Jakmania, Diky Soemarno, explained that his party had communicated with Persebaya fans, ahead of the League 1 match between Persija Jakarta and Persebaya Surabaya in Jakarta, Saturday (12/4).
"There must be communication. We also prepared several things related to the Bonek friends who attended. Because there is a ban or no ban, we as the Jakmania host are playing in Jakarta. Against (PSS) Sleman, friends from Sleman came, against (Persita) Tangerang, friends from (Tangerang) came, against Solo, friends from Solo also attended," said Diky when met after attending the reception of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung to the Persija squad at the Jakarta City Hall, Thursday.
"So we do accept friends. Because it is time for us to carry out mitigation in preparation for next season when the away ban is lifted. So this mitigation is a trial. So we have to technically test what the situation is like and how to do it so that when the away ban (spectator) is opened next season, everything will run smoothly," he continued.
PSSI issued a regulation prohibiting away team fans from watching matches in Liga 1 since the 2023/2024 season. The regulation was issued as one of the impacts of the Kanjuruhan Stadium Tragedy in Malang, which occurred in October 2022.
Although the regulation has been implemented, some club fans still go on away tours to support their favorite teams. For example, at the previous meeting at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, which took place in November 2024, a number of Persija fans went on a tour to directly support the Kemayoran Tigers.
