Jakarta - Premier League leaders Liverpool will undertake an Asian Tour in mid-2025 by playing friendly matches in Japan and Hong Kong, as quoted from a statement on Liverpool's official website, Thursday.
In Japan, Liverpool will face Yokohama F-Marinos, who are currently coached by Gareth Southgate's former England assistant Steve Holland.
They were finalists in last season's Asian Champions League under former Liverpool player Harry Kewell. Yokohama were previously coached by Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.
The friendly is scheduled to be played on July 30 at Nissan Stadium Yokohama, which hosted the 2002 World Cup final and has a capacity of more than 70,000 spectators.
Before appearing in Japan, Liverpool will play against AC Milan in the first football match held at the new stadium, the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, which has a capacity of 50,000 spectators.
Liverpool currently top the Premier League standings with a total collection of 73 points, 11 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
