Alton pointed out that the Israeli government continues its systematic massacres in Gaza, without distinguishing between young and old, children and women, spreading genocidal terrorism and raining bombs on innocent relief volunteers trying to deliver pieces of bread and drops of water to their people.
He said, "We condemn in the strongest terms this crime that condemns innocent people to hunger and thirst with an inhumane mentality, and we call on humanity to raise its voice against this brutality and take concrete steps."
He prayed for God's mercy for the young relief volunteers who were martyred, and expressed his condolences to the International Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).
He added, "Türkiye will continue to work with all its might within the international community to stop the bloodshed of innocent people, and will continue to increase its efforts until the killers responsible for Israel's brutal terrorism are held accountable under international law, sooner or later."
On Wednesday, Istanbul-based IHH announced in a statement that five of its workers had been killed over the past two days, and two others seriously injured, in Israeli airstrikes while attempting to deliver aid to Palestinians in cooperation with the World Food Programme.
The statement added: "We ask God to have mercy on our martyrs and grant patience to their families. The martyrs are: Mohammed Al-Mobaid, Ahmed Bustan, Moataz Rajab, Ishaq Al-Tayef, and Jamal Al-Mobaid."
With a deliberate policy that, according to the United Nations, paves the way for forced displacement, Israel is starving 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza by closing the crossings to humanitarian aid, particularly food, since March 2, according to the government media office in the Strip.
Tel Aviv excluded the United Nations and international relief organizations, and tasked the UN-rejected organization with distributing extremely scarce aid to areas in the southern Gaza Strip, forcing Palestinians to flee and empty the north.
With full American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 177,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.
