Liverpool coach Arne Slot said Chelsea will be a title candidate for next season, after they were defeated by Enzo Maresca's team with a score of 1-3 at Stamford Bridge.
In that match, Chelsea scored three goals through Enzo Fernandes (3'), an own goal by Jarell Quansah (56'), and Cole Palmer (P 90+6'), while Liverpool were only able to reduce the score by one goal through Virgil van Dijk (85').
Slot admits Chelsea will be a serious threat next season because they not only played better at Stamford Bridge but also lost at Anfield in the first meeting.
"They are so close to us. It's surprising to me that we are now 19 points ahead of them or something like that. I didn't feel that at all when we played them," Slot was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
