Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Number 8 of 2025 concerning Commercial Postal Services was issued to strengthen the commercial postal services industry and create a healthy and fair industrial ecosystem.
"With the issuance of the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Number 8 of 2025 concerning Commercial Postal Services, it is hoped that the dynamics of the industry can continue to develop in a healthy and balanced manner," said Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid.
Meutya said that the commercial postal and logistics services industry is one of the drivers of the national economy.
He highlighted the significant contribution of commercial postal services and logistics to the national economy during the COVID-19 pandemic, which occurred from March 2020 to 2023.
"At that time, the highest recorded figure was more than seven million packages per day successfully delivered when we experienced the COVID-19 (pandemic)," he said.
Meutya said that the transportation and warehousing business sector, which includes postal and courier services, was recorded to grow 9.01 percent year-on-year in 2025.
According to him, the transportation and warehousing business sector currently absorbs more than six million workers.
Therefore, the government issued regulations to support the strengthening of this business sector.
