Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Legislation Body Bob Hasan said that the draft of the Bill on the Protection of Domestic Workers (PPRT) was being re-drafted even though the draft had been prepared in the 2019–2024 period.
According to Bob, the different situations and conditions in this period require new achievements in the PPRT Law so that the academic context is also different. However, the previous draft bill will be the basis for the preparation of the current PPRT Bill.
"Therefore, we really need resource persons from academics and stakeholders ," said Bob Hasan during a public hearing on the PPRT Bill at the parliamentary complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.
He said that the DPR RI Baleg Secretariat would no longer prepare an introduction related to the draft of the PPRT Bill that had been prepared in the previous period because the preparation of the draft would include updating the academic text.
"So the draft will also be an update or different," he said.
