FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick promised to improve his team's defensive style next season after a dramatic 4-3 victory in the El Clasico match against Real Madrid at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.
"It's not easy for us to improve some things in training. I know that we have to improve (defensively) and we will do that next season," said Flick.
The win takes the Catalan club closer to a 28th La Liga title after widening their gap to seven points over second-placed Madrid with three games remaining.
The match could have been a foregone conclusion for Barca had Madrid not squandered a number of good chances to equalise after exploiting the Blaugrana's high defensive line. Kylian Mbappe, who scored three goals, almost added to his tally had two goals not been disallowed.
In addition, in the second half Madrid also got seven chances, three of which were big chances. However, from those chances, they were only able to score one goal.
