General Elections Commission (KPU) Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin said the budget for the use of private jets during the 2024 Election was issued in accordance with procedures based on an audit by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK).
"There is no hidden process, it is in accordance with the laws and regulations, and has been audited by the BPK," Afifuddin explained in an official KPU press release received.
According to Afifuddin, all budget use is carried out in accordance with laws and regulations related to Government Procurement of Goods/Services.
He continued that the funds used came from the APBN and were listed in the KPU RI Work and Budget Plan (RKA) and had been recorded by the BPK.
In fact, Afifuddin continued, the KPU actually made payment efficiency from the initial contract of IDR 65 billion to IDR 46 billion, the payment of which has been reviewed by the KPU APIP.
"Thus, there is an efficiency of Rp19 billion in the implementation of the jet aircraft contract," said Afif.
Regarding the reason for using a private jet, Afif said that his party used this mode of transportation to speed up the delivery of election logistics.
The logistics delivery process must be carried out quickly and effectively because the time given is only 75 days.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) said that it would examine the report of a civil society coalition regarding alleged corruption in the procurement of private jets by the Indonesian General Elections Commission.
