Minister of Culture Fadli Zon said that the Ministry of Culture's priority program is to make culture the basis for formulating national development programs.
"Our priority policies are certainly reflected in the three directorates general, Protection of Culture and Tradition; Diplomacy, Promotion and Cooperation of Culture and Development, Utilization and Fostering of Culture," said Fadli in Jakarta, Wednesday.
The Minister of Culture in a working meeting with Committee III of the DPD RI explained priority programs that emphasize world cultural heritage, revitalization of local traditions, digital culture, and cultural economy, cultural promotion diplomacy, studies on revitalization and digitalization of museum collections, repatriation of historical objects from the Netherlands, Germany, England, India and several other countries, revitalization of regional museums and cultural parks, restoration of sites, children's museums and the establishment of cultural houses.
Fadli also explained about the Indonesian film ecosystem which is in good condition, even the Ministry of Culture also facilitated Indonesian delegates to the international film festival, namely the Cannes International Film Festival, which utilizes the Indonesian cultural endowment fund which this year will be allocated IDR 300-465 billion.
"We hope that this will also be accessed by communities. This fund is intended to support the world of film, music and pop culture in addition to tradition, heritage , performing arts and others," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chair I of Committee III of the DPD RI Dailami Firdaus said that by 2024 Indonesia had designated 2,213 intangible cultural heritages and 228 national-ranking cultural heritages.
He emphasized the importance of preservation along with the increasing number of cultural heritages, he also hopes that the Ministry of Culture can be a driving force for preservation through cultural education programs for the community and students so that cultural heritage is maintained and provides economic benefits for the region and the country.
