Settlers escalate attacks in Salfit and Nablus, attacking and burning vehicles

Early Friday morning, Israeli settlers set fire to 14 Palestinian vehicles near the industrial zone near the town of Bruqin, west of Salfit.

Eyewitnesses reported that hundreds of settlers gathered near Bruqin and stayed overnight amid "rioting" that included threats to Palestinians and roadblocks.

This comes as a number of Israeli occupation bulldozers continue to destroy land in the town to expand the Bruchin settlement built on its lands.

Since Wednesday evening, the Israeli occupation forces have been besieging Burqin, conducting search and investigation operations, assaulting Palestinians and vandalizing their property, under the pretext of searching for the perpetrator of a shooting attack that killed an Israeli woman and injured her husband.

For its part, the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" quoted Nazmi Al-Salman, an activist in the resistance to the wall and settlements, as saying that large numbers of Israeli soldiers and police were deployed around the home of a Palestinian citizen after settlers threw a Molotov cocktail at his house, located on the outskirts of the town of Deir Istiya, in an attempt to set it on fire. The house is inhabited by a family of more than 13 people, including children and women.

West of Nablus, settlers attacked a water well guard belonging to the Nablus Municipality in the Masoudiya area and burned his vehicle.

On Thursday, far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for the destruction of Bruqin and Kafr ad-Dik in the northern West Bank, similar to the genocide in Shuja'iyya and Tel al-Sultan in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on the X platform, Smotrich said: "Just as we destroyed the cities of Rafah, Khan Yunis (south), and Gaza in the Strip, we must destroy the dens of terror in Judea and Samaria (the biblical name for the West Bank)," he said.

Since January 21, the Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression against the northern West Bank, resulting in dozens of deaths, injuries, and arrests, the displacement of more than 40,000 Palestinians, and widespread destruction in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps.

In a related context, the Israeli occupation forces prevented Palestinians from performing the dawn prayer on Friday at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

Wafa News Agency reported that the occupation forces prevented citizens from performing prayers, fired sound bombs at them, and forced them to pray outside the compound.

The Ibrahimi Mosque has recently been subjected to systematic attacks, including the prohibition of the call to prayer, the prevention of its workers from performing their duties, and the harassment of worshippers through barriers and electronic gates. This is in addition to Judaization projects aimed at obliterating its Islamic character and altering its historical and religious features.

In parallel with the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 967 Palestinians, the injury of approximately 7,000, and the arrest of more than 17,000, according to Palestinian data.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with full American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving approximately 173,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
