Bayraktar told Turkish media that his country is working on projects aimed at "restoring life in Syria to normal."
He confirmed that some Syrians residing in Türkiye wish to return to their country. He added, "We are working on a project that will triple electricity exports, as the Birecik-Aleppo line will enter service with additional capacity."
The minister explained that Turkish efforts in Syria are focused on rebuilding electricity and natural gas infrastructure, adding that approximately 3 million Syrians currently live in Türkiye, most of whom wish to return.
He pointed out that returning life to normal requires the provision of basic services such as electricity and water, in addition to addressing security concerns, adding, "Most of the activities we undertake are aimed at restoring normalcy in Syria."
