The "Gaza Court" in Sarajevo condemns genocide and Israeli actions against Palestinians.

This came in the final statement issued by members of the court (an independent international initiative) following its sessions, which began on May 26 in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo.

The statement affirmed the Palestinian people's right to all forms of struggle, including armed resistance, as affirmed by the United Nations General Assembly.

"We unequivocally condemn the crime of genocide committed by the Israeli government and its decades-long policies of settler colonialism, racial supremacy, racial segregation and discrimination, persecution, and illegal settlements," she said.

The statement also condemned "the denial of the right of return, collective punishment, detention, torture, inhuman treatment, extrajudicial punishment and executions, systematic sexual violence, demolition, forced displacement and deportation, ethnic cleansing and forced demographic change, starvation and systematic deprivation of all economic and social rights, and policies of destruction" practiced by Israel against the Palestinian people.

The statement stressed that the Palestinian people's right to self-determination is not up for debate; "it is a clear and fundamental right."

He noted that the members of the Court had gathered to declare their shared moral outrage against the ongoing genocide in Palestine, to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, and to pledge to work together to stop the genocide and hold perpetrators and accomplices to account.

The statement indicated that they will work with civil society partners around the world to ensure justice for victims and survivors, build a more just international system, and work for a free Palestine.

He also praised the resistance shown by the Palestinian people against the injustice that has continued for more than a century, and the solidarity shown by millions of people with them.

The statement called on all governments and regional and international institutions to put an end to the "historic scandal of inaction" that has been ongoing for 19 months.

He said: "We condemn Israel's war crimes in Palestine, its crimes against humanity, the continued complicity of governments in the genocide, and the shameful role of many media outlets in covering up the genocide, dehumanizing Palestinians, and spreading propaganda that fuels racism, war crimes, and genocide against Palestinians."

The Court is being organized with the support of the OIC Youth Forum, which comprises 66 member youth organizations, including 50 youth organizations from member states and 16 international youth organizations representing Muslim minorities.

The court was established in London in November 2024 by a group of academics, intellectuals, human rights defenders, and representatives of civil society organizations, due to the "total failure of the international community to apply international law in the Gaza Strip."

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war of genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The genocide, with American support, left more than 177,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that killed many, including children.
