The government is optimizing the use of the Republic of Indonesia Satellite 1 or SATRIA-1 to provide internet services in remote, frontier and outermost (3T) areas.
In a discussion event at Bentara Budaya, Central Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that the SATRIA-1 service will cover areas that previously did not have internet access or blank spot areas .
"We have SATRIA-1, later maybe some spots , points needed for network strengthening, we can propose and can be accelerated," he said as quoted in the ministry's press release.
5"I think this citizen networking initiative proves our society's enthusiasm to adopt technology, even in a simple form but its creativity is extraordinary," said Nezar.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital, according to him, is ready to facilitate activists and related stakeholders in providing community-based internet access facilities in accordance with the provisions..
