United determined to kick Athletic Club out of Europa League

Manchester United are determined to oust Athletic Club in the second leg of the Europa League semifinals on Friday morning WIB, with the belief that only a major disaster will prevent them from reaching the final.

The Red Devils recorded a convincing 3-0 win at Athletic's San Mames Stadium last week to put one foot in the final which will also be played at San Mames.

"We lost (to Brentford) in the Premier League, we are struggling in the Europa League, so we have to accept that and consider Thursday as our most important game," United manager Ruben Amorim told United's website on Wednesday.

The defeat to Brentford was also marked by Amorim's decision to field mostly young players, making it the third youngest team in Premier League history.

United's remarkable run to the Europa League semi-finals comes amid a trying season for United, with Amorim's men even looking inconsistent as they were beaten 4-3 by Brentford last weekend.
