Agassi Goantara becomes Pelita Jaya's new cannon in Justin Tatum's hands

Basketball player Agassi Yeshe Goantara has become a new cannon, aka the main point scorer and mainstay of Pelita Jaya Jakarta in the 2025 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL), since being trained by Justin Tatum.

Based on IBL statistics quoted in Jakarta, Wednesday, Agassi has become a points-earning monster for his team, since Tatum replaced Johannis Winar (Coach Ahang) as head coach, last May.

Throughout the period from May to mid-June 2025, the point guard always finished the game with double digit points.

In fact, during the six matches under Tatum's direction, Agassi was able to score 28 points, which was his highest record of the season.

This achievement made Pelita Jaya defeat Bima Perkasa Jogja with a score of 106-58.

The effect since being trained by Justin Tatum, who is the father of NBA megastar Jason Tatum, has made Agassi's average score from 23 games become 10.4 points per game (ppg), 3.5 rebounds per game (rpg), and two assists per game (apg).

The note is a warning signal to be vigilant for potential opponents, especially Prawira Bandung, who will compete against Pelita Jaya, on Wednesday night.

Agassi Yeshe Goantara began appearing in the Indonesian professional league in the 2018-2019 season with Stapac Jakarta.

He immediately became a champion in his debut season in the league.

After Stapac, Agassi moved to Pelita Jaya. At the club, he was absent several times, because he had to complete his education abroad, and play basketball there.

Agassi only played full time with Pelita Jaya in the 2024 season. At that time he scored 4.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, and 1.8 apg in 24 games including the playoffs .

As a result, the 25-year-old basketball player helped Pelita Jaya win the championship title that season.
