Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah secured a place in the last 16 and completed the host's mixed doubles team with three pairs at the 2025 BWF World Tour Super 1000 Indonesia Open badminton tournament.
Amri/Nita recorded a dramatic victory over Taiwanese pair Ming Che Lu/Hung En Tzu with a score of 14-21, 25-23, 21-16 in the first round match held at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.
This victory follows two other Indonesian pairs who had already qualified, namely Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
In the 65-minute match, Amri/Nita performed less convincingly in the first game and were left far behind until they had to give up the opening game to the Taiwanese pair.
Entering the second game, Amri/Nita began to show a change in strategy and increased the tempo of the game. Although they were behind in the second half of the game, they managed to equalize the score to 19-19 and forced long rallies at crucial points.
