The Editors' Forum has made four suggestions to the government regarding a number of things that need to be accommodated in the draft Broadcasting Law in order to maintain the sustainability of the media industry.
The Head of the Editor-in-Chief Forum, Retno Pinasti, said that currently almost all mass media companies are facing challenges. One of the causes of this condition is the equality of regulations in the ecosystem between mass media and social media and digital platforms. She emphasized the importance of government support for the sustainability of the media industry.
"Government support for the media is very important. The media and press industry in Indonesia needs support that is equal to other strategic industries. Policies that are supportive are very much needed so that this industry can compete, have independence, and maintain quality," Retno said in her statement.
