This came in a video message published by the Turkish President on Thursday, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, which falls tomorrow, Friday, in which he congratulated Muslims around the world.
He wished well-being during these virtuous days for Turkey, its people, the Islamic world, and humanity as a whole, stating that holidays renew the spirit of unity and solidarity and strengthen the bonds of solidarity and brotherhood, and that they are also the doors of blessings that open to God's pleasure.
"The meeting held in Istanbul on June 2 is a historic step towards ending a bloody war that has entered its fourth year," Erdogan said.
On Monday, Istanbul hosted a second round of Russian-Ukrainian talks aimed at ending the war that has been ongoing since February 2022.
During the Istanbul negotiations, the two sides agreed to proceed with the prisoner exchange, and the Russian side submitted a memorandum outlining its vision for a ceasefire.
Russia is launching a military attack on its neighbor Ukraine, demanding that Kyiv abandon its membership in Western military entities as a condition for ending the offensive. Kyiv considers this an interference in its internal affairs.
Erdogan stressed that Ankara is doing its utmost to stop the genocide being committed by Israel in Palestine, as well as to end the war between Russia and Ukraine with a just peace.
Erdogan sent Türkiye and its people greetings to the Palestinians, who are waging an epic struggle in the Gaza Strip and the occupied territories and are putting up a steadfast resistance against Israeli brutality.
He said: "I pray for mercy for all my brothers from Gaza who were martyred in the (Israeli) attacks, and I wish a speedy recovery for the wounded."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, leaving approximately 180,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, more than 11,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced.
The Turkish president indicated that with the support of all brotherly countries in the region, Syria will enjoy lasting peace and return to its former glory days.
The Turkish President commended the new Syrian administration's struggle for national unity, the country's territorial integrity, and sustainable development.
He expressed hope that the ongoing instability in various regions, particularly Gaza, Sudan, and Somalia, would end as soon as possible.

On January 29, 2025, the new Syrian administration announced the appointment of Sharaa as president for a five-year transitional period.
