Four island dispute resolved thanks to statesmanship of Aceh-North Sumatra Governor

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said that the resolution of the dispute over four islands on the border of Aceh and North Sumatra Provinces was achieved thanks to the statesmanship of regional leaders.

After attending a press conference on resolving the conflict on the four islands, Prasetyo said that Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf and North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution prioritized national interests within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"The two of them, the governors, statesmen who think for the common interest within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace complex.

He reminded the public not to be easily provoked by issues that deviate from the substance of the problem, especially those that develop without a strong basis in fact.

"This is also a warning for us. Don't let there be a problem, then the issue is shifted everywhere, later there will be friction, mutual distrust," he said.
