Indonesian Navy Frigate Ship Manufacturer Collaborates with Domestic Industry

The French company that makes the Indonesian Navy frigate, Fincantieri, is collaborating in the field of communication technology development with domestic industry PT. Prima Maju Mapan.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement at the Indo Defence 2025 exhibition in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

The signing of the cooperation was carried out by Commissioner of PT Prima Maju Mapan, Adrianus Prima M with VP Sales of Fincantieri's Naval Ship Division, Mauro Manzini.

In an official press release received by Antara in Jakarta, Friday, it was explained that the two companies will work together to develop technology that functions to protect underwater infrastructure such as submarine cables and pipes as well as strategic assets including naval bases, ports and offshore installations.

"This strategic collaboration is a form of commitment from Fincantieri and PT. Prima Maju Mapan to further emphasize the role of the national defense industry to strengthen Indonesia's technological sovereignty in the maritime sector, while also encouraging stronger national industrial participation in this sector," Adrianus said in the press release.

Through this activity, Adrianus hopes that the quality of domestic defense equipment products can be further improved and become more prominent in the international world.

Thus, the domestic defense industry can gain a wider market on the international stage.

Previously, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said that the 2025 Indo Defense event was an opportunity for the domestic defense industry to show its existence in the eyes of the world.

Therefore, he encouraged various domestic industrial companies such as PT Pindad, PT PAL, and PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI).
