Lemhannas studies impact of Constitutional Court ruling on election on quality of democracy

National Resilience Institute Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily said his institution will study the impact of the Constitutional Court's ruling separating national and local elections on the quality of democracy in the future.

"Of course, this is a new decision that needs to be studied in depth regarding its impact on the quality of our democracy," said Ace when met at the Lemhannas RI Office, Jakarta, Monday.

Ace believes that the Constitutional Court's decision is final and binding. As an institution authorized to conduct studies for the sake of state resilience, Lemhannas will study the impact of the decision further.

He also mentioned that the issue of reforming the Indonesian political system to make it better quality was one of the studies conducted by Lemhannas this year.

"One of the issues that we will examine is how we expect the Constitutional Court's decision to increase the impact on the quality of our democracy," Ace added.

According to him, the results of the study on the Constitutional Court's decision must be compiled, especially regarding the consequences on the relationship between the center and the regions. This is considered necessary to be examined in depth.

In principle, Ace added, Lemhannas continues to encourage the quality of Indonesian democracy to run well, including the political office election system at the national and regional levels.

"In order to produce leaders who have the qualities to improve people's welfare," he said.
