Indonesian League 1 club Madura United has decided to once again entrust the position of head coach to Angel Alfredo Vera for the 2025/26 competition season.
Quoted from the official Indonesian League website, Wednesday, Madura United President Achsanul Qosasi said there were various considerations why his team again placed its trust in Alfredo Vera.
"We decided to reappoint (Alfredo Vera) as Madura United FC Coach for the upcoming season," said Achsanul Qosasi.
"We received a lot of considerations and input. However, his services in improving the team's performance in the second round of last season, we should not forget," he added.
Meanwhile, Madura United manager Umar A Wachdin added that the other coaching staff are still in process and he asked supporters to patiently wait for the official announcement from the team.
The Argentine coach has been handling Madura United since the match against Persita Tangerang in the second round of Liga 1 2024/25. On his debut, he immediately presented an away point from a 1-1 draw.
He has led a total of 19 matches in the Indonesian League 1 and AFC Challenge League last season with eight wins, five draws and six losses.
During Alfredo Vera's time coaching Laskar Sape Kerrab, Jordy Wehrmann and his colleagues were able to score 24 goals, concede 22 goals, and record 8 clean sheets.
The result made Madura United able to escape the relegation trap and reach the AFC Challenge League Semi-finals. Their steps in the international arena were stopped by Cambodian representatives Preah Khan Svay Rieng FC.
