Perpani diverts TC budget to international trials for efficiency

The Indonesian Archery Association has adjusted the budget for the national training center by diverting it to participate in a number of international championships, as part of a strategy to increase athletes' flying hours towards the 2025 Thailand SEA Games.

Deputy General Chairperson II for Development and Achievement of PB Perpani Abdul Razak said that his party must carry out efficiency in the limited budget of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), including by making addendums or changes in the budget usage plan.

"As much as possible we have to minimize expenses and maximize what we have," said Razak when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta, Wednesday.

One of the programs that had to be canceled was the training camp in Orlando, United States, which was previously planned as part of the preparations for the Hyundai Archery World Cup in Florida, on April 8-13, 2025.

The five-day training camp in Madrid, Spain, was also canceled. The budget was diverted to support the participation of Indonesian athletes in the 2025 Asia Cup Leg 2 which will take place at Bukit Gombak Stadium, Singapore, on June 15–20.

"We finally chose to send athletes to the championship rather than TC, so that they can still feel the competitive atmosphere," said Razak.

However, due to budget constraints, PB Perpani did not send a complete squad. In the recurve event, Indonesia only sent three female athletes and one male athlete, so it did not participate in the men's team event.

Meanwhile, the compound number is followed by a full composition, because the funds that were originally for TC in Madrid were completely diverted to participate in Singapore. Later in the Land of the Matadors, the Red and White archers will immediately take part in the Archery World Cup Stage 4 on July 8-13, 2025.
