Representatives of the Indonesian League 1 Club Persik Kediri revealed the reasons for recruiting Ong Kim Swee (OKS) as the new coach for the 2025/26 season.
Quoted from the club's official website, Friday, Persik Kediri Manager Muhammad Syahid Nur Ichsan assessed that OKS had shown his abilities with Persis Solo in the second half of last season.
At that time, Persis Solo, who had struggled in the first round and then escaped the relegation zone last season, was one of the considerations for their recruitment to be handled by OKS.
"Of course we recruited coach OKS because of several factors, but his performance with Persis Solo last season was also a consideration," said Syahid.
"Then he introduced himself to football in Indonesia, so we are sure he has understood the culture and doesn't need to adapt anymore," he added.
