The Indonesian national team still has a chance to qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup ahead of the last two matches of the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian zone.
Despite being in fourth place in Group C, the Garuda squad's chances are wide open, especially advancing to the next qualifying round if they end up in third or fourth place in this group.
From the two remaining matches, Patrick Kluivert's squad still has the opportunity to catch up with the top two positions which are the automatic requirements for qualifying for the fourth round, thus opening a direct path to the United States, Canada and Mexico who are co-hosting the 2026 World Cup.
In Group C, only Japan has secured a place to compete in the 2026 World Cup after collecting 20 points from 6 wins and 2 draws. The remaining automatic ticket is still up for grabs by three other teams.
Australia is in second place with 13 points, followed by Saudi Arabia (10 points), Indonesia (9 points), China (6 points), and Bahrain (6 points).
The competition will be fierce considering that all teams have not been completely eliminated and still have the possibility of continuing their adventure to the next round.
