The Iranian Ministry of Health announces that the death toll from Israeli attacks has risen to 224, with more than 1,000 injured

The Iranian Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 224 Iranian citizens were killed and more than 1,000 others were injured as a result of attacks launched by the Israeli army over the past three days on sites across the country.

The head of the Public Relations and Media Center at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Hossein Kermanpour, wrote on social media that "the number of victims of the Israeli aggression has so far reached 1,481 martyrs and wounded, including 1,277 people who have been transferred to university hospitals for treatment, while more than 90% of the injuries have been recorded among civilians."

He added, "522 of the injured have left the hospital after receiving treatment, while the number of martyrs has reached 224 men, women and children."

He stressed that "this is the painful result of the false slogan that Israel does not target the Iranian people and that its objectives are only military."

Kermanpour called on "the international community and people of conscience, especially Persian-speaking medical workers around the world, to take urgent action to stop what he described as 'genocide' against civilians."
