West Bank: Occupation forces arrest dozens of Palestinians, continue raiding areas, and besiege Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club (non-governmental) and the Palestinian Liberation Organization's Prisoners' Affairs Commission (governmental) stated in a statement on Tuesday that "the Israeli occupation forces continue to escalate arrests and field investigations in the West Bank at a relatively increased pace, compared to the days preceding the start of the war between Iran and the occupation."

The statement said that the occupation army arrested 30 Palestinians in the West Bank, including children and former prisoners, "on the pretext that they had video footage on their phones of the arrival of the (Iranian) missiles, or other material classified as 'incitement' on social media."

He added, "The occupation has adopted a series of policies and crimes in the various areas it invades and carries out arrest operations in the West Bank."

The statement explained that the most prominent of these practices were "the field investigations that targeted hundreds of people, including entire families, in addition to the detention of citizens as hostages, the conversion of homes into military barracks after forcing their owners to leave and move to other areas, in addition to the deliberate destruction of infrastructure, field executions, and assassinations."

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses reported that Israeli bulldozers continued their demolition operations in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, where they began demolishing new homes in the center of the camp on Tuesday.

The Israeli occupation army announced, in early June, its intention to demolish 95 new homes in Jenin camp, which would mean the demolition of approximately 33% of the camp, according to a previous statement by the Jenin Municipality.

This comes as the occupation army continues its aggression on the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps (north) since January 21.

Siege on Al-Aqsa

For the fifth day, the Israeli occupation forces continue to impose a complete closure on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted the Jerusalem Governorate as saying that "the occupation forces' sporadic attacks resulted in the injury of five Jerusalemites with live bullets in the towns of At-Tur, Bir Nabala, and Al-Ram."

In contrast, the occupation forces allowed settlers to perform religious rituals near Al-Aqsa Mosque and intensified their daily raids on Jerusalem towns and suburbs, amidst a military presence at dozens of checkpoints, gates, and the apartheid wall.

In the Hardoub neighborhood of the town of At-Tur, WAFA reported that the occupation forces fired live bullets at a 12-year-old Palestinian child and a 22-year-old Palestinian man while they were standing at the door of their home. The first was injured in the hand, while the second was hit in the back. A third Palestinian was injured.

Later, the occupation forces fired flares during their raid on the town. The raids extended to the Ein al-Louza neighborhood in Silwan, where a number of Palestinian youths were arrested after their homes were raided.

Israeli occupation forces also raided the town of Shuafat, searched a house in the town of Issawiya, and closed the entrance to the town of al-Ram after storming the Coptic suburb. They also raided the towns of Hizma and al-Eizariya. Two young men were also injured by live bullets in Bir Nabala and al-Ram and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has waged a genocidal war in Gaza, leaving more than 184,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that has claimed the lives of many, including children.

In parallel with the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 978 Palestinians, the injury of approximately 7,000 others, and the arrest of more than 17,500, according to Palestinian data.
