An Israeli military company's ad uses a scene of a Palestinian killing to promote the accuracy of its weapons.

A new advertising campaign launched by Israeli defense company Rafael has sparked widespread anger and condemnation after the company showed a real-life video documenting the assassination of an unarmed Palestinian youth in northern Gaza City using a Spike Firefly suicide drone. The video was part of a global promotional campaign for its weapons.

The published video sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms, with Palestinian and Arab tweeters claiming the company was promoting what they described as "the precision of its military industry" by killing a hungry young man who was searching for food and trying to escape, only to be killed inside the targeted area.

In an official post on its X account, the company said, "Spike Firefly: Proven Precision, Redefining Tactical Superiority. We celebrate two years of operational Firefly deployment, heralding a new era of precision for tactical combat forces. Since that first deployment, Firefly has proven its worth in the most challenging environments, delivering precise strikes with minimal collateral damage, even in GPS jamming environments and under adverse weather conditions."
