Japan urges travelers to keep power banks in accessible places

The Japanese government has issued an appeal to travelers to store power banks in visible places during flights. The appeal follows a series of incidents of cellphone batteries catching fire on flights.

Quoted from Kyodo, Tuesday, Airline staff at several airports throughout the Land of the Rising Sun have begun asking for cooperation from passengers, while All Nippon Airways group staff at the departure point of Haneda Airport, Tokyo, urged not to store power banks in the overhead compartments on the plane.

"For safety's sake, we would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation," said one of the staff.
