Legendary Dutch coach Louis van Gaal has announced his recovery from prostate cancer, which he has been battling since 2020.
"I'm no longer bothered by cancer. Two years ago, I had surgery. It was a difficult time, but now I feel very relieved," the 73-year-old said in an interview on Dutch television show Humberto, as quoted by Football5Star on Saturday.
Van Gaal was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020, but chose to keep his condition a secret from the public and his players while he was still coaching the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup.
