In the latest attack, the Israeli occupation forces killed five Palestinians in a shooting attack near an aid center northwest of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The occupation forces killed four Palestinians in two attacks targeting civilian gatherings in the Al-Tuffah and Al-Zeitoun areas, east of Gaza City.
Medical sources reported that three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
During the early hours of the morning, four Palestinians were killed in a similar attack that targeted a house in the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Most of the attacks were concentrated in the southern Gaza Strip, where eight Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in an airstrike targeting a tent housing displaced persons near the Taiba Towers in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis.
The Israeli occupation forces also killed four Palestinians and injured others, most of them children and women, in shelling that targeted two tents for displaced people on the city's beach.
The army also targeted a tent housing displaced persons near the British field hospital in Al-Mawasi, killing three people, including two children, and wounding others.
In a new massacre, the Israeli occupation army killed 15 Palestinians and wounded 90 others waiting for humanitarian aid near the Tahlia roundabout east of Khan Yunis.
"American mercenaries"
In a related context, former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated in a post on the X platform on Thursday that "in one month, 550 starving Palestinians were killed by American mercenaries while trying to obtain food at distribution points set up by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," which is supported by the United States and Israel.
Borrell described the situation as "horrific," accusing European countries of unwillingness to act "against the crimes being committed in Gaza."
Far from the oversight of the United Nations and international organizations, Tel Aviv and Washington began implementing a plan on May 27 to distribute limited aid through what is known as the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation." This plan forces starving Palestinians to choose between starvation and death by Israeli occupation forces. As of Thursday afternoon, this plan has left 652 martyrs and more than 4,537 wounded, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
For his part, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric confirmed in a press statement Thursday evening that "the United Nations has failed to protect the Palestinian people."
"The Secretary-General and all UN humanitarian and other personnel who remain in Gaza are doing their utmost to protect civilians and help them survive, at least by providing them with the limited resources we have available," Dujarric noted.
Hamas's response to the truce agreement
Meanwhile, Hamas confirmed in a statement on Friday that, as part of its commitment to " ending the Zionist aggression against our people and ensuring the free entry of aid, the movement is holding consultations with leaders of Palestinian forces and factions regarding the offer it received from the mediating brothers."
Hamas indicated that it "will submit the final decision to the mediators after the consultations conclude, and will announce this officially."
On Thursday, informed sources said that Hamas was "moving toward agreeing" to the Qatari-Egyptian proposal for a prisoner exchange and ceasefire, but had not yet made a final decision.
According to the sources, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar have provided "broad guarantees" for the agreement's implementation, and Türkiye is likely to be among the guarantor countries.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
This war left more than 192,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
