2025 MotoGP standings after Marquez breaks Austrian GP curse

Ducati Lenovo rider Marc Marquez finally broke his Red Bull Ring curse after winning the main race of the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix, strengthening his position at the top of the MotoGP standings this season.

The race in Spielberg was dominated by Marco Bezzecchi, who started from pole position . Bezzecchi led from the first lap, followed by Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez. However, Marquez began to exert pressure from the start, overtaking Bagnaia at Turn 3 on the second lap.

Despite being 0.8 seconds behind midway through the race, Marquez continued to apply pressure. A fierce duel ensued over the final 10 laps, particularly on lap 19, when he briefly overtook Bezzecchi at Turn 3, before being overtaken again at Turn 6.

Momentum finally arrived on lap 21, when Marquez managed to pass Bezzecchi at the first corner and maintain a lead. While Bezzecchi was busy battling with Fermin Aldeguer, Marquez raced away alone to the lead.
