Mexicali, April 5.- To ensure harsher punishments for attacks caused by negligence on the part of owners of aggressive animals, the citizen initiative known as the "Amparito Law" was submitted this Friday to the Official Reports Office of the State Congress.
In this regard, Morena representative Michel Sánchez Allende, president of the Equality and Youth Commission, reported that Ana Lidia Soto was directly assisted and provided support for her presentation.
It should be noted that this proposal arose from the tragic event of August 18, 2024, when Ms. Amparo Romero Gálvez, a retired nurse from Mexicali, died after being attacked by a pack of dogs that escaped from a home in the Villas del Rey IV subdivision.
The initiative was created and signed by more than 1,120 Baja California citizens on the electoral roll. It was formally presented by Ana Lilia Soto, daughter of Mrs. Amparo Romero Gálvez.
