Mexicali, August 24. Baja California has consolidated its position as the state with the fastest-growing manufacturing sector nationwide, registering a 30.5 percent increase in production value during the first half of 2025, confirmed Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda.
He highlighted that according to the Monthly Survey of the Manufacturing Industry (EMIM) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), during the first half of the year, the total value of manufacturing production amounted to 136.572 billion current pesos.
"In Baja California, we're working to ensure our industry remains a leader , generating quality jobs with a skilled workforce. We also collaborate with secondary and higher education institutions to develop talent that meets the needs of the productive sector," he stated.
The president indicated that Baja California is one of the states that contributes the most to Mexico's exports.
Kurt Honold Morales, head of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation (SEI), acknowledged the challenge posed by the current international economic climate , but stated that Baja California will continue to focus on innovation, technology transfer, and strengthening the Network of Innovation Centers (RED Ci Baja).
