Ensenada, February 9.- A gray whale that ended up stranded on the coast of Ensenada near Ciprés was buried this Wednesday by the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) to avoid a possible source of infection.
The Zofemat coordinator stated that the necessary excavation was carried out to bury the remains of the gray whale, approximately 10 to 12 meters long, with support from the Infrastructure Directorate and the Aguas de Ensenada company.
The Navy and the Federal Attorney's Office for Environmental Protection (Profepa) went to the site to survey the animal's coordinates, record the species, and inspect it to rule out or confirm whether the animal showed any signs of violence.
